Besan Ladoo - Delicious, easy to prepare and rich in nutrients

Our meal is incomplete without having sweets. We can either get it from market or prepare at home. Everyone is fond of having sweets daily after meals and it is kids favourite. The healthy way of having sweets is to prepare it at home and it remains fresh for long time. There are various types of Ladoos that we can prepare at home easily like suji ladoo, besan ladoo, oats ladoo, dry fruits ladoo etc.

Besan is rich in fiber and nutrients. It is good source of minerals, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, phosphorus, manganese, selenium and copper. It also contains Vitamin A, Niacin, Vitamin K and folate. It is gluten free and can be substituted in recipes for wheat flour.

Recipe for Besan Ladoo

Ingredients

Besan - 2 cups
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Green Cardamom(ilaichi) - 4 pieces
Dry Fruits (optional)

Steps to prepare Besan Ladoo

- Take a thick bottom pan and add ghee.
- Add Besan and stir continuously sothat no lumps are formed.
- When besan turns Golden in colour and nice nutty fragrance starts then switch off the gas.
- Add Sugar powdered with illaichi (green cardamom) and mix well.
- Also add Dry fruits roasted in Ghee, if you are using them.
- Let the mixture cool down a bit sothat you can easily make ladoo.
- If ladoos are not formed properly then you can add little bit of Ghee.
- Take small portions of mixture and form ladoos and store it in air tight container.
- Ready to serve.
