Goa - A beautiful tourist destination with stunning beaches a major attraction all over the world


Goa is a smallest state of India which is located on the western coast of India. It is bounded by the state of Maharashtra to its north and east. The state of karnataka lies towards south and arabian sea to the west. Panaji is the state's capital while Vasco da gama is its largest city. Konkani is Goa's official language.

Large number of International and domestic tourists visits Goa for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. It is rich in Flora and Fauna. 

The old age Portuguese architecture of Goa is a major contributing factor as are the customs and traditions that borrow from Portuguese culture especially in the city of Margao.
You can visit Goa at any time of the year though the popular season is from November to April. The beaches and springs are best seen in the monsoon season. 

There are many site seeing places in Goa. Goa is especially known for its Golden and white sand beaches. These beaches are the only one of their kind in India. They are incredibly clean and beautiful.

Goa has tropical monsoon climate. The summer in Goa is hot and humid. The winter is short and very pleasant. Cashew nuts, Handicrafts and wooden carvings are some of the best things to buy in Goa.

Places to visit in Goa


Baga Beach - Baga Beach is located close to Calangute Beach around 30 kms north of Panaji. It is the most popular beach of Goa. There is a wide range of water sports available here. Here you can see beautiful Sunsets and enjoy the cool morning breeze. The famous water sports are jet skiing, parasailing, banana ride and boating.

Calangute Beach - It is known as the queen of beaches as it is the largest beach in north Goa. It is 15 kms from Panaji. It is one of the busiest and most commercialized beaches of Goa. It is located between Candolim and Baga Beach. This beach is also known for its water sports activities.

Palolem Beach - It is located in south Goa. It is one of the most beautiful beach and is often crowded with foreign tourists.

Anjuna Beach - It is situated on the west coast of Goa. It is known for its natural beauty and glowing soft white sand. It is favourite spot for both domestic and foreign tourists. The best time to visit the beach is between November to March.

Basilica of Bom Jesus - This is a historic church located in old Goa. It is UNESCO world heritage site. It houses the tomb and remains of St. Francis Xavier. The floor of this church is made of marble mosaic with precious stones. The interior of the church is simple and quite.

Dona Paula - It is a former village and now a tourist destination. It is a center for national institute of oceanography. It is the closest tourist spot from Panaji and 7kms from Panaji. It is the most crowded beach for 2 reasons- water activities and small food, cloth stalls. It is perfect spot shopaholics with stalls ranging from eatables to clothes. The Indian arts emporium offers a great variety of Handicrafts and jewellery.

Flea Market - The famous Flea markets such as Wednesday afternoon Anjuna Market and Saturday night market are great for shopping. Things ranging from Special tea to Kashmiri carpets are available here. Ingo's is another such market open for around six months during the year for peak season where you can buy t-shirts, accessories, jewellery etc.

How to reach Goa


By Rail - The major Railway stations in Goa are Madgaon, Vasco da gama and Thivam. They are well connected by trains from all over the country.

By Bus - Both public and private bus operators are available for inter-city and intra-city conveyance. There are daily direct bus from Goa to big cities like Mumbai and Pune.

By Air - Goa International Airport at Dabolim near Vasco da gama is the state only Airport which provides both domestic and international air services.
