Sooji Dhokla Recipe - A tasty and healthy steamed recipe easy way to prepare at home


Sooji (Rava) also known as Semolina is made of durum wheat. Sooji is a balanced food and is low in cholestrol and sodium. It is rich in potassium, iron and proteins. It is good for diabetics also. It improves heart health and helps in loosing weight.

We can prepare a tasty Dhokla with Sooji. As it is steamed so it is good for health.

Steps for preparing Sooji Dhokla

Ingredients

  • Sooji - 1 Cup
  • Curd - 1 Cup
  • Water - 1/4 Cup
  • Eno fruit salt - 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbps
  • Green Chilli (Finely Chopped) - 1
  • Salt
  • Oil

For Tempering

  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Green Chillies (Slit in between) - 2
  • Curry Leaves - 6 to 7
  • Coriander leaves (Finely Chopped)

Procedure to prepare Recipe

  • In a bowl take curd, salt, water and mix to form a semi liquid paste.
  • Add Sooji , Ginger garlic paste , green chilli and mix properly.
  • Keep it aside for an hour.
  • Grease the tray in which you are preparing Dhokla with little oil.
  • Add Eno to the batter and mix slightly.
  • Transfer the batter to the tray and steam it for 15 mins.
  • After 15 min take out the tray from steamer and let it cool for 10 min. Spread coriander leaves evenly on the Dhokla.
  • For Tempering, take oil in a small pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, green chillies , curry leaves and crackle them.
  • Spread this over the Dhokla and ready to serve with green chutney.

Sooji Dhokla is very tasty recipe and good for morning, evening breakfast. Kids will also love it.
