Kadai Paneer Recipe - An easy way to prepare a tasty and evergreen recipe with less effort


Paneer is a good source of protein. It is not only rich in Calcium but also contains lots of Vitamin B, So it is good for bone health. It is a great source of conjugated linoleic acid which helps in loosing weight by increasing the fat burning process in the body. It also helps in preventing cancer and heart diseases. Paneer is good for children, elders and pregnant women. It is safe food for people who is having diabetes. It is also rich in potassium, magnesium and contains anti-oxidant properties. It promotes healthy digestion, keeps hair and skin healthy.

Most of us loves paneer especially kids. Now we will see how to prepare Kadai paneer -

Kadai Paneer Recipe

Ingrediants

For Kadai Masala:
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon (dalchini) - 1/2 inch
  • Cloves - 2
  • Green Cardamoms - 2
  • Whole black pepper - 6
  • Dry red chilli -  4-5

For Preparing Gravy:
  • Paneer
  • Bay leaf (tej patta) - 1
  • Onion roughly chopped - 2
  • Tomato - 2
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Capsicum - 1
  • Kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) - 1 tsp
  • Cream - 1 tbsp
  • Oil
  • Salt for taste
  • Finely Chopped Coriander leaves

Method to prepare Kadai Paneer


  • Dry roast the "kadai masala" spices given above in a pan.
  • Let it cool then grind to a fine mixture and keep it aside.
  • Grind onion to a paste and also grind tomatoes.
  • Deep fry paneer and keep it in water. 
  • In the same oil deep fry cubed or sliced capsicum.
  • Heat oil in a Kadai and add tej patta, ginger garlic paste.
  • Add onion paste and saute till onion becomes light golden in colour.
  • Add tomato paste, turmeric powder , red chilli powder and mix well till oil appears from the sides.
  • Now add capsicum, paneer, salt and mix slightly. Add water as per required consistency.
  • Add kadai masala, crushed kasuri methi and keep it on slow flame for 5-10 min.
  •  Add cream and coriander leaves.
  • Mix well and it is ready to serve.

You can also prepare kadai mushroom following the same recipe just replace paneer with mushroom.
