Punjabi Kadhi Pakora recipe- How to prepare a delicious and wonderful recipe


Punjabi kadhi pakora is very famous recipe which everyone likes. It is prepared in Punjab and in all other places also. It is very tasty and easy to prepare. you can have it with both chapati and rice. All the ingredients for this recipe are easily available at home.

You can also prepare simple without pakora. Punjabi kadhi pakora is colourful curry prepared with mixture of curd and gram flour(besan) and then pakoras are put into it which adds to its taste.
In different parts of India, there are different varieties of kadhi like Rajasthani kadhi, Gujarati kadhi, Sindhi kadhi and many more.

Steps to Prepare Punjabi Kadhi Pakora

Ingredients

For Pakora

  • Gram Flour (besan) - 1/4 cup
  • Onion (Finely chopped) - 1/2
  • Green Chilli (Finely chopped) - 1
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Caraway seeds (Ajwain) - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - 2tbsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

For Kadhi

  • Curd (if possible, sour) - 1 cup
  • Gram flour (besan) - 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 5 to 6
  • Dried red chilli - 1
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1/2
  • Curry leaves
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Asafoetida (Heeng) - a pinch
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Water

Procedure for preparing Punjabi Kadhi Pakora

Pakora preparation

  • In a bowl take besan, onion, green chilli, red chilli powder, salt, ajwain and mix well. 
  • Add water to make a batter and deep fry the pakoras till golden brown.
  • Keep them aside.

Kadhi preparation

  • In a bowl take curd, besan, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and mix.
  • Add water and whisk properly.
  • Take a thick bottom pan and add oil to it.
  • Add Heeng, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dried red chilli, curry leaves and mix.
  • Add onion, green chilli and ginger garlic paste. Mix properly till onion changes colour.
  • Now add the mixture prepared with curd and besan.
  • Keep mixing in high flame till it starts boiling.
  • Slow the flame and let it cook for 15-20 min.
  • Add pakoras and coriander leaves before serving.
  • Ready to eat
